Comparison

    Insights Discovery vs DISC

They both use four primary "types" — which is why people confuse them. The two tools come from different traditions, measure slightly different things, and produce very different outputs. Here is a plain comparison so you can choose with confidence.

    Where each tool shines

DISC is fast, practical and excellent for behavioural adaptation in customer-facing and sales contexts. Insights Discovery goes deeper — the personal profile is a narrative document, and the debrief gives leaders and teams a working language they keep using months later.

    • Pick DISC for short, behaviour-focused sales or hiring programmes
    • Pick Insights Discovery for leadership growth, team cohesion, and culture change
    • Both work well when delivered by a certified practitioner — not as a stand-alone PDF

    FAQ

Is Insights Discovery the same as DISC?▾

No. Both group people into four primary categories, but they come from different traditions. Insights Discovery is rooted in Carl Jung's theory of psychological type. DISC is rooted in William Moulton Marston's 1928 behavioural model. The vocabulary, the wheel, and the depth of the output are different.

Are the four Insights colours the same as the four DISC letters?▾

They are similar in spirit but not interchangeable. Fiery Red is broadly comparable to Dominance, Sunshine Yellow to Influence, Earth Green to Steadiness and Cool Blue to Conscientiousness — however the underlying questions and scoring are quite different, so a DISC profile cannot be converted into an Insights profile.

Which one should we use for leadership development?▾

Insights Discovery tends to be the stronger choice for leadership and team development because the output is a narrative personal profile with depth on blind spots and growth edges, supported by a certified practitioner debrief.
